HOME QUEER HOME blurs the lines between performance, installation, documentary and community engagement. Through the combination of video, photography, sound, and live performance HOME QUEER HOME gives voice to young queer people. Highlighting their testimonies of what it is like to grow up and be queer in Denmark today.
Over a period of one-month HIMHERANDIT travelled across Denmark to many villages, towns, and cities interviewing and documenting young queer people in their homes and capturing their stories and testimonies.
Topics of public safety, family, visibility, communities, homophobia/transphobia, queer histories and sexuality come together to form a powerful installation about what home, freedom and belonging mean to queer youth in Denmark today.
HOME QUEER HOME includes a 7 screen video installation thhat displays interviews from 50 LGBTQIA+ youth from all over Denmark, 50 photographic portraits, a surround sound installation, a 12×12 mirror and rainbow installation and a powerful 45 minute performance that includes 80 young persons from all across Denmark.
